Keeping Secrets – Prompt 23

The best kind of secret is a kept secret. I think that secrets should not be spread all over and become a rumor. As an exception, there are some secret that should not be kept if it’s going to harm. Even if I have to break my promise, I would still tell a friend about it. A secret is so not worth as much as a person’s life. Imagine living with guilt your whole life for not telling anyone about the hurtful secret you kept.

Beauty or Brains--Prompt 22

I would totally pick brains of course! Beauty is nothing and you go nowhere. It is just the outer appearance . Brains is the inner beauty. I think that inner beauty is what really matters the most in defining an amazing person. Inner beauty would make me happier because I would love the person for who that person is and not for what that person looks like.

No Women Allowed--Prompt 21

I think that some jobs should only be appropriate for men. I don't think that women should be able to do any job they want because I really don't think women should be allowed to do hard works and constructions. If women are able to hold any job they want to then there will be no difference between men and women at all except for our appearances. God has created men to be the leader of the family which I think it means that men should be the one doing the hard jobs!

No More ToFurky Left -- Prompt 20

Thanksgiving Holiday was the BOMB! It was pretty nice to get a break after all those days of school. It was awesome to just sleep in everyday without even worrying about the time at all. You could even wake up in the middle of the night and go get something to eat like it's during the day or something. Thanksgiving is pretty sweet because all you do is sleep and pig out. YEAH!!

The Boob Tube -- Prompt 19

I think that the value of a lot of extraordinary stuff in this world has been lessened due to the cause of people watching TV too much. People around the world used to be amazed by the wonders of the world till they start spending too much time with their beloved TV. Long ago, people used to watch like Mister Roger's Neighbourhood but TV has changed everything. Nowadays, everyone is psyched about wasting their time watching MTV and dancing around along with the songs. I think that TV has a big influence on our interests. It could also changed the way people think and believe.

It's Never Too Late for Cal State--Prompt 17

I don’t think that it is too late for older adults to go back to school. I actually think that it is kind of good. Nobody in this world, no matter what age, stops learning new stuff in life. They might have totally messed up their life in school and wants to try again. I think that they should go for it!
The drawbacks that they face are that it is hard for them to memorize stuff and keep track with the teachers since they’re old and slower than younger kids. Schools also have a different style of teaching nowadays compare to their school days.
They could improve the society a lot because they know both the techniques from back then and nowadays.
I think that the ambition of Mike Flynt is pretty hardcore and awesome. I think that he is really brave to try to go back and join the team again. If I had a chance to do the same thing as he did, I would definitely do it!

Is One the Lonliest Number?--Prompt 18

I think he means that when you‘re not comfortable with oneself, you tend to always surround yourself with friends. You don’t like being alone because you will then think about your actions and looks. You are not satisfied by who you are and surround yourself with friends because it makes you feel like you fit it and that you’re happy. Therefore, when you’re alone, you start thinking that you’re not good enough and look down at yourself. You are not content in who you are.
This idea doesn’t really apply to my life because I’m pretty content with who I am. I don’t like being alone because I don’t like being in quiet places (not because I’m not comfortable with myself). I don’t dread it, but I don’t enjoy it..

To Be Great -- Prompt 11

Every single one of us has the potential for greatness but how do they gain greatness? I think you can't define someone as great by their outer appearances. Greatness is more about one's characters and actions towards others. It does not come with all those riches and fames. Money does not make you acheive greatness. I think that you gain greatness by doing your best, not by being the best. When you do your best, you can go through every obstacles that come in your way. It is true that you can't be great if you only think about yourself and be stuck up, you have to think about others and serve them in a humble manner. Those people who serves others without wanting fame are people who I call as having greatness.

How Embarrassing!--Prompt 9

My most embarrassing moment in life isn’t that funny actually but it was the most embarrassing moment of all time. So here is the story, I decided to join the school band my Sophomore year and it was awesome. I was the band timpanist and so I was the loud kid in the band since the timpani is pretty much loudest percussion in the whole band. The audience could always hear the timpani and so they could recognize your mistakes.
Well, we had our Dinner Concert in March and every one was there. I was so ready to just start and get it over with. The conductor started tapping the beats and so I started playing. After a few seconds later, I realized that I was the only one playing. I looked at the other kids in the band and the audience, and they were all staring at me. I then turned to the conductor and finally knew that he didn’t want us to start yet but he was just tapping the sticks to get everyone’s attention. This is the main cause of why I don't want to join a band again in my life!

MICROTRENDS -- Prompt 5

Microtrends, to me, are fashion trends that a small group of people follow. It isn't a trend set for everyone to follow or be aware of. It is a personal trend that individuals follow to have their own style
Teenagers knit because they want to find a new unique way to express themselves so they can start a hot upcoming trend for other teenagers. High-earners get tattoos because they want to spend their money and feel young.
Hilary Clinton hired Penn for her campaign because he knows the “real world”. Using his microtrend theory he identifies specific parts of the population and relates to them, thus making them feel special and getting their votes.
Free society tells people that no matter what they do its still “cool”, uniqueness is the main idea. Why not be gay, its unique. No matter what you do it a free country so express yourself do what you like. No one cares.
Penn’s book was purposely written and published at that date to help Clinton win.
As of a member of the student body of Weimar Academy, I do not have any microtrends at all.

REMEMBER 9/11?--Prompt 4

It didn’t really have a huge impact on me during that time because I was in the other part of the world. I didn’t hear much about it because I was like in my own small little world since I was only in 4th grade. My mom didn’t talk much about it either, all she told me was that the twin tower came down and that’s all I knew about it. I felt so sorry for the people in the building when I heard about it but wasn’t like balling myself out.
It kind of changed me in a way now though since I’m in America. For when it comes by everyone around me gets emotional and sad, and it pulls me in too. I think you guys should remember September 11 but you should not hold grudges about it.

ARE WE DONE YET?--Prompt 3

This was my first experience camping, like, real camping. I think it was an amazing experience even though I sore so bad. I didn’t really like the idea of freezing my butt off in the morning for shower which is like half a mile away. The beach was awesome and I loved it so much. I think it was actually the best part of the campout because I actually got a lot darker! YEAH!

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION - PROMPT 2

In my opinion, I think that illegal immigration is so bad that it should be stopped and abolished. It has a huge effect on our society because they’re actually changing the culture of some places in the U.S. Since there is many of them here it makes the rest of them in Mexico have the want of coming to the U.S. Lots of illegal Mexicans are riding on the backs of others by not paying taxes. They’re still benefiting from living in this country and they don’t have to pay tax. Therefore, the economy is going down because of the vast population of illegal Mexicans here. In Mexico, the work wage is really low just like China and so other countries make their products in these countries. But because of the vast amount of Mexicans coming to the U.S., other countries’ economy goes down due to more less workers. I don’t think its right at all to send people who have formed roots in the U.S. back to their countries because it causes the separation of family members. Even though I think that illegal immigration is bad for the country but the parents and their children should not be separated at all. We should allow those illegal immigrants to be here but force them to pay taxes and prevent the other illegal immigrants that are coming. I agree with some part of President Felipe Calderon’s stance but not all. I agree with his point that family members should not be divided but I do not agree with the rest of his point at all.
